The red sploch.

The last bit of colour from a great sunset, now just a red sploch in the sky.

Sky Watch meme, go look at other skies from all around the globe.

It is a nice Red Sploch.
I have just realised that your area is very linked to Generals and battles of the 18th./19th. centuries.
Thanks for your kind comment.

Fantastic photo! The sky looks so dramatic that I in a way just wait for the storm to come:) Nice detail with the green tree in the left corner.

Hi Glennis.... thanks for the visit to my blog. I have visited NZ 5 years ago but only the North Island. I stayed with cousins in Auckland for a wedding, and then took a trip all the way north to Cape Reinga and the bay of Islands, and then further south to Rotorua and Waitomo, what a beautiful country you live in!

Gorgeous evening light.

you could reduce the noise level in the image by mounting the camera on a tripod, taking a long exposure shot (say 5-10 seconds), keeping the ISO as low as possible.
