Richmond Ranges and bare grape vines

Grape vines wintering over, soon to shoot new leaves and fruit, with our misty blue mountains the Richmond Ranges, in the distance.

Nydia Bay

My World for this week is the rather stoney beach at Nydia Bay in the Pelorus Sounds. I rather like the small island but I don't know its name, if it has one. This is a good bay to catch snapper, if your a good fisherman. A small boat is heading out fishing near the island.

Picton's Marina

My World.
Have a look at all the other My World posts.
Picton's Marina is under going a big change of improvements, all these old wharves and moorings have just been pulled out, with great difficulty as the old folk built things to last, the marina is now all clear of boats and wharves and a new building project has started to build nice new floating jetties for the launches. I am sure it will be lovely when it is finished, but at the moment is causing lots of problems to boat owners who had to move, and lots of mess around the harbour. We will wait for the new structures, which will include a boardwalk around the marina and a viewing platform among other things.
Our house can just be seen in this photo, the pink roof on the hillside to the right, near a blick building, which is an old peoples home, we are able to watch closely as the work progresses.

Sky Watch Friday.

Sky Watch Friday.

This photo needs to be enlarged to get the best from it, the sun's rays are streaming down from behind the dark cloud lighting up a small patch of ocean and Arapara Island. Taken as we sailed out of the Marlborough Sounds on the inter Islander Ferry.
