Blenheim Clock tower

My World for this week is;

An Autumn leaved street tree for the center of town and the Clock Tower of Market Square, in Blenheim.
The clock tower was originally on top of the old Post Office building, but when the old building was demolished and replaced the tower was moved to here and kept as a good place to sit down and to use the phone and also to study the street maps of the town. The pretty Liquid Amber tree is just across from the tower, outside a Fashion store.

we have a clock tower that has been salvaged also. its from the old city hall, which was an absolute shame to have been torn down and replaced.
yours is beautiful

A lovely glimpse of your town, Glennis, and it is good to see that the clock has been attended to. Sadly so many town clocks aren't going these days.
Have a lovely week.
Blessings.

Great that this clock tower is preserved! Sometimes people are too hasty to replace perfectly good buildings by other ones.
Thanks for the visit!

Glennis: I took photos of a lot of clock towers while in Europe. That was a neat idea to preserve the tower.

Just popped in to say hello. Presumably you are the same Glennis who commented on my blog. If so, thank you and I'm glad I found your blog.

That's great that they could save the tower. It makes a nice place to stop in the shade.
The leaves on that tree are such a lovely color.

I take pictures of clock towers whenever I see them. Besides being picturesque, they provide a visible means of showing what time photographs were taken :-)

I think it's wonderful that the clock tower has been preserved.
Thanks for visiting my site.

Hello Glennis! Thanks for commenting on my blog! Your header is beautiful, and how interesting about that little clock tower. I've never seen a clock tower that was removed from somewhere and is just standing by itself!

Interestingly, this clock tower, but I like the tree with red leaves very much! Beautiful here in Blenheim! A blessed day to you my dear Glenis!

Two very nice photos...I keep forgetting that you're moving into autumn as we're moving into spring. Love the tree and the clock tower is splendid.

Hi Glennis, first off, thanks for stopping my blog. It's always fun to see new names :-)

Secondly, I scrolled down and looked at all the pictures here. The everyday beauty that surrounds us is amazing, isn't it?

You're in New Zealand (one of the first things I spotted was the ANZAC post, and then other things added to that), so you have Autumn at present, while we have Spring. We'll likely swap again in six month, won't we (if all goes according to plan!).

Clock Tower. It's a fun phrase, isn't it? I know there's the "Clock Tower Incident" that is quite tragic, but the concept of a Clock Tower is wonderful. The Time Sentry. A place as assignations, hopefully at midnight, under starry skies, eh?

Take care of Autumn, and we'll take care of Spring. Trade you later :-)
